Yonkers came to Asbury Park and the cast of Hair showed the full monty.
We kicked off our inaugural season in Asbury Park with a one-night only concert of Jerry Herman’s classic Hello Dolly at the Paramount Theatre staring Richard Skipper as Carol Channing, a stellar cast and a full orchestra.
Audiences embraced ReVision Theatre and we made a 180 degree turn with a Mainstage Production of Hair, our first at the Carousel House. Hair began our tribute to the long term relationship of Rock and Roll and Asbury Park. In 1969, this rock musical stood Broadway on its head and garnered a nomination for Best Musical Tony Award. With music by Galt MacDermot and book & lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado, Broadway had not seen anything like this before. Featured in the original Broadway cast was a young Diane Keaton in her first Broadway show. ReVision audiences reminisced about a different era and packed the house every night.
