2011 Season

Our 2011 Season was our most expansive to date.

We opened the season with our one-night only benefit concert of the Tony Award winning DreamGirls in May at the Paramount Theatre, a musical not seen on Broadway since the early 1980’s.

We brought down the curtain in December with our holiday show, A Christmas Survival Guide, by the creators of our 2010 hit The Bikinis, Ray Roderick and James Hindman. This rollicking musical lampoons the stress and angst of the holiday season.

Our Mainstage Season at the Carousel House consisted of many “Firsts” including Xanadu (New Jersey Premiere) based on the 80’s Universal Pictures film and the production featured Asbury Park resident and Broadway actor, Bernard Dotson.

We blew the roof off of the Carousel House with Spring Awakening (New Jersey Regional Debut) the surprise 2007 Tony Award winning musical that, when on Broadway, starred Glee favorite, Lea Michelle and Broadway favorite Jonathan Groff.

The Break Up Notebook by Patricia Cotter (East Coast Premiere) took the traditional Boy Meets Girl story to a new level of Girl Meets Girl in an old fashioned way. Leading the cast was Broadway performer and LA favorite Beth Malone.

The talents of eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman were represented by Little Shop of Horrors, our Halloween inspired production.
