2012 Season

Dolly Levi, Seymour Krelbourne, Fanny Brice and Tommy Walker have all graced the stage in ReVision’s five year history. Musicals ranging from the gang themed Kingdom to the breakout rock musical Hair to the iconic heartwarming musical comedy Hello Dolly have all been produced by ReVision Theatre. The original Broadway productions of the shows we have produced garnered a total of 82 awards and nominations. With that kind of pedigree how could we not take a look back at the past four seasons?

This season we take a trip down Memory Lane and revisit the shows we have produced over the last four years in Asbury Park. Selections from many of these productions will be included in our Fifth Anniversary Retrospective Concert/Fundraiser kicking off our 2012 Season at the historic Paramount Theatre. The cast will include many returning artists, Broadway performers, ReVision veterans and some new faces. This annual fundraising event gives a jump start to every ReVision Season.

Our mainstage summer season will be presented at our new venue, Theatre at Saint George, located at 700 Grand Avenue, Asbury Park, NJ. NJ where audiences will see Pippin and Red. We open at our new venue on July 26th with Pippin. This was Stephen Schwartz’ first musical on Broadway; where he is currently being represented with Wicked and the revival of Godspell. This classic piece of Broadway history about a young prince searching for the meaning and significance life while trying to find his “Corner of the Sky” will have all the flavors of a high energy ReVision production.

Our second offering of the summer season is a first for us in Asbury Park. For the past four years we have been producing exclusively musicals. On August 23rd for the first time in our Asbury Park history we will present a drama, Red, by John Logan. This award winning, two-character bio-drama examines the relationship between the abstract expressionist artist, Mark Rothko and his newly hired assistant as Rothko paints a series of murals for a lucrative commission at the Four Seasons Restaurant.

We look forward to seeing you at the theatre and will continue to announce future theatrical events, cabarets and readings as the 2012 season progresses.
