INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW 2010-2011 season

ReVision Theatre, a professional Equity regional theatre has part-time and full-time internships available.
Fall/Winter/Spring internships (September 2010 thru June 2011) generally structured to coincide within current school semester.
Administrative/Production internship
Must be computer literate, organized and serious about a career in theatre. Interns work on all day to day activities of running and producing a theatre company including casting, front of house, office administration, fundraising, marketing, technical production and all other areas. Artistic opportunities may also exist for actors, directors and designers. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn all aspects of professional theatre with strong career objectives. We are located 50 miles from NYC, in Asbury Park, NJ. Non-local interns are provided with transportation reimbursement (to and from NYC via NJ Transit train) and housing when staying over on consecutive days. Flexible schedule can be arranged. No pay for first 6 month period (winter/spring) but possible stipend thereafter for those who are asked to stay on for the summer season (see below). Students or recent graduates preferred. College credit may be arranged.
Summer Season Internships (2 or 3 months: June thru August 2011)

Performance internships and Production internships.
Performance interns are cast in mainstage and children’s shows and also are required to work in various production and administrative areas.
Production interns positions available include assistant director, assistant music director, stage management, company management, scenic (carpentry, painting, props), lights & electrics, costumes (stitchers, wardrobe), sound & light board ops and administration. General internships are also available.
Students or recent graduates preferred. College credit may be arranged. Stipend plus housing is available for summer internships

ReVision Theatre is a professional regional theatre company dedicated to producing invigorating theatre with a fresh new perspective reaching the diverse community of Asbury Park, Monmouth County and beyond.
ReVision Theatre produces reinventions of previously produced classics, overlooked or forgotten work in a new way, and new work with a fresh voice. The company serves as a nurturing home for local artists and writers. ReVision Theatre also believes strongly in the importance of theatre education and teaches children and adult theatre classes, produces readings, workshops, cabarets, concerts, as well as mainstage productions.

ReVision Theatre is a great place to learn, grow and continue to pursue your goals in Theatre Arts while working in a professional, creative and inspiring environment.
Performance: Performance Interns are cast in Mainstage productions and in our Theatre for Young Audience series. Production duties are required by all performance interns rotating throughout all areas or can specialize in one or two chosen areas of production work. Stage Management: Stage Management interns act as assistants to the PSM (who is a member of Actors’ Equity Association), assisting with rehearsals, taking blocking, maintaining discipline and serving as deck ASM’s during shows. Interns also serve as the Stage Manager in charge including calling of at least one or more of our Theatre for Young Audience series.
Electrics, Lights & Sound: Electrics, Lights/Sound interns serve on the crews for hang and focus, are on deck crew or spotlight for run of shows and may design one or more of our Theatre for Young Audience series. Electrics interns frequently assist with sound.
Properties: Interns in properties assist the prop master in all prop areas: shopping, carpentry, soft goods, painting, set dressing, crafting. Prop interns frequently serve as run crew for MainStage productions.
Costuming: Wardrobe interns work as stitchers in the costume shop, run wardrobe crew during shows and assist in design for our Theatre for Young Audience series.
Scenic Shop: Shop interns assist the shop as carpenters, riggers and/or welding. Interns serve on deck crew for shows.
Arts Management(Marketing/Company Management): Arts Management interns assist in the theatre office with company and production management duties, assisting the Producing Artistic Directors and office staff. These interns will also assist in the box office, front of house, concessions and in technical production for strike and load in. Arts Management interns will serve on run crew for MainStage or Children’s Theatre as necessary.

VIDEO SUBMISSION: If you decide to audition by video, we prefer that it be submitted online, via youtube. Must include: 2 songs: 16 bars each.
1 song- up-tempo & 1 song a ballad.
Optional but strongly recommended: 2 dance routines: 8 counts of 8 (musical theater style of dance).
